CEO and Founder of Lantern Recovery Services?
Mary Goggins is the CEO and founder of Lantern Recovery Services, a trauma-informed mental health organization dedicated to supporting individuals affected by addiction and mental health challenges. Born and raised in Wisconsin as one of seven children, Mary brings both a grounded perspective and deep compassion—shaped by her personal journey and more than 18 years of experience in the behavioral health field. After relocating to Arizona in 2022, she has continued her mission of service while also cherishing her role as a proud mother of three grown daughters. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and spending quality time with family and friends.
Lantern Recovery Services was founded in February 2024, inspired by Mary’s belief in the power of taking small, steady steps—even in times of uncertainty. The name Lantern stems from a deeply personal moment during a difficult season, when a friend encouraged her to envision a lantern at her feet—illuminating just the next step forward. This practice of presence, of resisting the urge to “future trip,” became central to Lantern Recovery’s philosophy. Its guiding verse, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105), reflects the mission of offering hope and direction—one step at a time.
Mary is deeply committed to expanding access to trauma-informed care, particularly in communities most affected by substance use and mental health challenges. She believes lasting recovery is possible when individuals are supported by compassionate, knowledgeable providers who understand the complexities of trauma. Through the innovative use of technology, Lantern Recovery Services is helping close the accessibility gap by delivering high-quality, evidence-based support to those who need it most.
With empathy, vision, and an unwavering commitment to healing, Mary leads Lantern Recovery Services as both a clinician and a change-maker—guiding others forward, one illuminated step at a time.
Ego State Therapy
Sometimes different “parts” of us show up in response to things we’ve been through—especially during earlier stages of life or after difficult experiences. In therapy, we get to know these parts instead of ignoring them. The goal is to help them feel safe, understood, and connected, so they can work together as a whole rather than feeling pushed aside.
Structural Dissociation
When trauma happens—especially over time—it can create a split inside. One part of us handles daily life, while another part may carry the pain of past experiences. Therapy gently helps these parts reconnect and communicate, so you can feel more balanced, whole, and safe within yourself.
Lantern recovery services is physically located in the state of Arizona, but is fully licensed as an LCSW in AZ, WI, MI, CO, FL, and NJ. We accept cash pay as well as most insurance plans.
Lantern recovery services provides telehealth visits at this time.
We accept most insurance plans however if you prefer paying out of pocket, we charge $160 per session.

Really helped me talk through things I like how Mary talks and gives me ideas rather than sitting and just listening to me. She’s exactly what I need.
Verified client, age 25-34
I offer trauma-informed therapy online for adults in Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Colorado, Florida, and New Jersey. My approach is flexible and tailored to each person—I often combine methods like CBT, DBT, EMDR, parts work (IFS), and motivational interviewing. These tools help clients work through difficult experiences, build healthier coping skills, and create lasting change.
I’ve been working in the mental health field for over 18 years and completed advanced training in EMDR therapy in 2025. I’m licensed as a clinical social worker (LCSW) in six states and also hold additional licenses that allow me to specialize in substance use treatment.
Most importantly, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood as we work together toward healing and growth.
I only included sections of text from the website that I felt could be easier for a reader to follow. If I omitted something, it was because my pee-brain felt it was easy to understand. Again, I am not saying what is on the website is bad by any means, just providing some considerations.
EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR is a powerful, research-backed method that helps resolve the lingering effects of trauma and distressing life experiences. It can be effective for:
PTSD and complex trauma
Anxiety, panic and phobias
Depression
Chronic shame or self-criticism
